Happy Spring!
Usually people get pretty excited about spring to arrive. I know I do--warmer weather, blooming flowers, school ending, etc. But since coming to Mongolia the excitement has toned down little bit. Spring isn't particularly a pretty thing here. The other seasons can be beautiful, but spring is a little off. This is when the country turns into one big mud puddle because of all the melting ice and snow. This also when the dust storms arrive. Just out of nowhere comes wind and dust. Your house will be filled with dust for two months. AAA!!
It can get pretty the closer to summer it gets. It does get warm. And GREEN! That is something to get excited about-- green instead of white or brown. This is also the time when Mongolians get a moving itch. Mongolians are a nomadic people and this is the time to start moving to the spring/summer spot. It's pretty cool to watch a Ger be taken down, moved, and put back up. The picture above is of a Ger being moved. The town in the background is where I live--Darhan. Don't think I could do it--moving every season. But in a way I do---I move in God's seasons. When one season ends, He moves on to another season. Huh.
